Having grown up on the Connecticut shoreline, Katey Walker has always been inspired by the seashore.  The colors, shapes, and sense of tranquility of the ocean have all influenced her design aesthetic.  Her affinity for naturally occurring free-form shapes can be seen throughout her collection, as well as her fascination with the adornment styles of women of the world inspired by her travels to foreign lands.

After receiving a BA from Suffolk University in Boston, Katey earned a degree in jewelry design from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City.  Upon graduation, she apprenticed for one of the last remaining large fine jewelry production companies in New York's diamond district, working on pieces for Tiffany and David Yurman.  This experience enabled her to strengthen her bench skills, as well as further hone her knowledge of the production process.

As a jewelry artist, Katey strives to create unique and wearable pieces of environmentally responsible handmade jewelry.  Using high-carat yellow and rose gold, and a variety of natural gemstones, Katey's pieces are all handmade from start to finish in her Connecticut River Valley studio.
